The National Development Plan Division, Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) in collaboration with the Tutong District Department, Ministry of Home Affairs held the 'Jelajah RKN’ to socialise The Twelfth National Development Plan (RKN12) on Tuesday, 18th November 2025 at the Dewan Utama Kompleks Kemasyarakatan, Tutong District. Present as the Guest of Honour for the ceremony was Awang Haji Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri, Acting Tutong District Officer, Tutong District Department.

Yang Mulia Mohammad Harris bin Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Trade and Industry) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, recently attended the Ministerial Retreat and the 28th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting held at Davao City, the Philippines on 13th & 14th November 2025, respectively. Chaired by His Excellency Secretary Leo Tereso Magno, BIMP-EAGA Signing Minister for the Philippines, and attended by other BIMP-EAGA Signing Ministers, BIMP-EAGA Chief Ministers & Governors, BIMP-EAGA Senior Officials, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Brunei Darussalam and Singapore Advance Cooperation on Agri-Tech Food Zone

The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE), Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) of Singapore and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), will undertake a joint feasibility study on the establishment of a Brunei– Singapore Agri-Tech Food Zone (ATFZ). ATFZ is the main outcome of discussions with Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of Singapore His Excellency Lawrence Wong during the 11th Brunei-Singapore Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP). The ATFZ is also envisioned as a strategic expansion of the multiple Brunei-Singapore Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) that were signed previously to strengthen bilateral economic and agri-food cooperation.

Temporary Closure of Petrol Stations for the Inspection and Verification of Fuel Dispensing Pumps for the Month of November 2025

Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will carry out the verification of accuracy readings on fuel dispensing pumps at various fuel stations in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151. Whereby, the stipulated guidelines under the Act require all weighing and measuring machines used for trading purposes to be checked for their accuracy and validity, and whether the machines have already been registered with the SDT Unit.

Local Companies Fined For Failure to Submit Income Tax Returns
11 November 2025 In the months of July to September 2025, thirty (30) local companies were ordered to settle fines at the Magistrate’s Court for failing to comply with Section 52(1) of Income Tax Act (Chapter 35), which is failing to submit Income Tax Returns for the relevant Financial Years:

The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) and the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility (CGIF), a trust fund of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) co-organized the Brunei Darussalam Capital Market Development Seminar 2025: Unlocking the Potential for the Brunei Darussalam Sukuk Market on 28 October 2025 at the Rizqun International Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan. The event brought together over 150 participants from diverse sectors to discuss the potential of corporate sukuk as an alternative financing instrument.

The Twenty-Sixth Meeting of the ASEAN Economic Community Council (26th AECC)

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II attended the 26th Meeting of the ASEAN Economic Community Council (26th AECC) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 24th October 2025. The 26th AECC was chaired by His Excellency Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Malaysia and attended by the AECC Ministers from ten (10) ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste.
