Price Control Act, Chapter 142 Enforcement Records 5 Compounds in Q2 2025

Daily routine inspections by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy recorded thirteen (13) offences under the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 and its Regulations in the Second Quarter of 2025 (Q2 2025). This enforcement is part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with the Price Control Act, Chapter 142.

01 September 2025 Kementerian Kewangan dan Ekonomi serta Jabatan-Jabatan di dalamnya telah mengadakan Majlis Persembahan Dikir Syarafil Anam sempena Sambutan Maulud Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam bagi Tahun 1447 Hijrah pada hari Isnin, 08 Rabiulawal 1447H bersamaan 01 September 2025M bertempat di Masjid Mohamed Bolkiah, Kampong Serusop.

Temporary Closure of Petrol Stations for the Inspection and Verification of Fuel Dispensing Pumps for the Month of September 2025

Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will carry out the verification of accuracy readings on fuel dispensing pumps at various fuel stations in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151. Whereby, the stipulated guidelines under the Act require all weighing and measuring machines used for trading purposes to be checked for their accuracy and validity, and whether the machines have already been registered with the SDT Unit.

14 August 2025 The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) through the Department of Consumer Affairs, in collaboration with the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Industry and Business Ecosystem Division under the Ministry of Finance and Economy has recently conducted a joint operation at business premises in the Brunei Muara district, focusing on Lambak area.

The APEC High Policy Dialogue on Women and the Economy (HLPD-WE) convened on Tuesday, 12 August 2025 in Incheon, Republic of Korea. The Dialogue was chaired by H.E. Young-sook Shin, Acting Minister of Gender Equality and Family of Republic of Korea. Brunei Darussalam was represented by Yang Mulia Dr. Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary (Economy, Trade and Industry) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Ministers and senior officials from other APEC Economies, and Executive Director of APEC Secretariat were also in attendance.
